volunteer application - Team Leader and assistant leaders
Please note you must be 18 years or older to proceed with this registration.
Leavers Green Team is a ministry of Baptist Churches Western Australia and a proud partner of the WA Police. Green Team is responsible for the sale of the Leaver's wristbands for access to the Entertainment Zone which caters to over 9,000 Leavers each night. Green Team will be responsible for entertaining and interacting with the Leavers as they line up, Checking IDs to ensure that only genuine leavers can purchase wristbands and Sale of wristbands. We will be operating over 5 days out of Busselton and Dunsborough.
This year we are pleased to announce that Green Team will be also sending a team of volunteers into the zone each night and to Meelup Beach Day on Wednesday Morning. This team will be assisting with engaging with leavers and assisting to keep them safe.
This is a great opportunity to let your Light Shine and show God’s love.
We are planning on taking 50 volunteers including up to 8 leaders from our local Baptist Churches, local community, and all over WA!
Registration Fee:
- $120 early bird before 11:59 pm 15th August 2022
- $140 standard price post 15th August 2022

What areas are available to Team Leaders and Team Leader Assistants?
When you register you'll be asked to provide your top two preferences to team lead/assist along with your suitability for those particular areas. If you have any queries regarding the areas, please do not hesitate to contact Ben Jefferies at ben.jefferies@baptistwa.asn.au before completing your registration.

ROLE DESCRIPTIONS
Team Leaders
Focus: Leading the team of volunteers in their area and ensuring the area is safe and running smoothly.
Responsible for overseeing and managing the volunteers in their area for that day. This includes but is not limited to briefing the volunteers to prepare them for the night, ensuring their team is going on breaks, managing volunteer movement throughout the day, working together, encouraging volunteers and ensuring the area is safe for volunteers and leavers. It’s important the Team Leader understands the area and has experience in similar roles – where possible.
Requirement:
- Has previously been a volunteer or team leader with Green Team - Desirable
- Has previous leadership experience leading a team
- Capable of leading a team in high-pressure and stressful situations
- Adapts well to change
- People orientated person who loves supporting their team and drive to get the best out of their team
- Safe Church-approved (we can assist with this process)
Assistant Team Leader
Focus: Helping team leader manage their area and volunteers
The Assistant Team Leader is responsible for assisting the Team Leader to prepare for the day ahead and helping lead the team of volunteers.
Requirement:
- Has previously been a volunteer with Green Team - Desirable
- Capable of working with a direct report who will give them direction
- Able to work in high-pressure and stressful situations
- Adapts well to change
- People orientated person who loves supporting their team and strives to get the best out of their team
- Safe Church-approved (we can assist with this process)
Safe Church Leadership Approved
Please note - if you are not already Safe Church Leadership Approved or Endorsed we can assist you in the process of being approved. If this is you, you will receive a separate email from Sally regarding our Safe Church Leadership application process and she will be happy to assist you through the process. To be approved as a Team Leader or Team Leader Assistant (a leadership position) you will need to complete this process.
This includes the below:
- Valid Working With Children Card,
- National Volunteer Police Check or a Volunteer National Police Check (within the last 3 years), and a
- Completed Leavers Green Team Waiver
- Completing the Safe Church Endorsement form
- Attending a Safe Church Training workshop
BCWA reserves the right to reject an application if the above criteria are not met or the applicant is deemed unsuitable after the reference check. If your application is deemed unsuitable you will be notified, and fees will be refunded.

Leadership appointments
All applications for leadership positions will be examined and Team Leader and Assistant Leaders positions will be assigned by the end of October. Suitable applicants that are not assigned a leadership position will be registered as team members.
Leader and assistant leader training
Volunteers accepted into Leadership positions will be required to attend an additional training session relating to their areas. Dates for the training session will be released closer to the time.
Green Team Induction
It is a requirement that all volunteers attend the induction session –Wednesday 2nd November from 6 pm to 9 pm at Baptist Ministry Centre 21 Rowe Ave, Rivervale
Refund Policy
Baptist Churches Western Australia understands circumstances change and offer the following alternatives to assist you should you need to alter your registration. Cancellations can be arranged by writing to Baptist Churches Western Australia – must be received thirty (30) days before the event. No refunds will be issued after this date.
A $30 cancellation fee will be incurred for registrations cancelled as per the above policy. Baptist Churches Western Australia can allow for special consideration of your circumstances in regards to this policy. If this is the case, please contact Baptist Churches Western Australia to discuss your circumstances.

We are careful to keep your information confidential, and provide it only to those agents acting on behalf of the organisation who need it to enable them to perform their agreed activities (e.g. First Aid Officer). We only ask for information that is necessary for the purposes outlined in this statement. In some circumstances, if you don’t provide us with all the requested information you could miss the opportunity to be involved in our program.
